If you have been noticing that they have been gaining a little bit of wait, it is your responsibility to see what can be changed now, so that when they are adults, they are accustomed to a healthy diet and don’t suffer as much as you do of junk food cravings as many other adults.
Think of it all of the good habits and bad habits are learned at home, it is what you teach your kids now that will shape their lives forever. If you decide to make this change and work with them here is a few steps that you should definitely consider:
Clean out the Kitchen: Throw away all of your chips, pop, candy, anything that you think may be responsible for your kid’s sudden weight gain, and fill up that kitchen with lots of healthy snacks and good quality food.

Get a Family Gym Membership: This will be a lot of fun! Try to find a gym that has a pool, what kid does not love to be in a pool? Spend at least 3 hours a week with them getting some activity. Come up with creative ways to keep them moving like planning a family race, every time you are there and put up the winner in a chart in your kitchen at the end of the month, whomever gets the most win, must be rewarded with a really fun gift. Limit their TV time: We all love television, and there are tons of great shows. Have them and you make a list of their favorite and max out their TV time to an hour to two hours a day, to make sure that they are getting their home work done, and have time to do extra stuff, like helping you clean the house and maintain their rooms organized.
Set an Example: Parents, have to be the example to bring good habits to the house for good. Make sure that you pay attention to what you eat, act, do and how much time you two are spending in front of the TV. It has to be a fair deal for everyone.
